Oops

Well so much for that.  I was supposed to get a port installed today in my chest.  This would make it easier for the chemo to be delivered, and would keep me from having to get an IV for every infusion.  I was scheduled for surgery - an hour and a half procedure - at 11am today.  But this morning when I woke up, I forgot all about it and ate an egg sandwich.  Ooops.  I wasn't supposed to have any food after midnight last night.  I called the hospital and had to reschedule for tomorrow.  This means I will still be fairly sore for the next infusion on Thursday.  They can still use the port, but it might hurt.  If worse comes to worst, I can still get this infusion via IV, but it would have been nice to have an extra day to recover.

The upshot of screwing up my scheduled surgery is that I get to see my awesome friends from college tonight who are in town for the Holidays!  I love them so much and haven't seen them in a year and a half!   I am thrilled to be able to enjoy my best friends' company this evening without being all drugged up on oxycodone!  I am so psyched to see them!  One good thing about being sick is that people around you take note of how much they mean to each other, and go to great lengths to reconnect.  It is one of the side effects of cancer that I actually like.

And just for fun:

Everett got a dancing Wall-E toy for Christmas and took and opportunity to showcase his own dancing skills...
